Hello!

It started when I was 18, right out of high school, performing at Opryland USA. What I thought might simply be a fun job turned into 15 wonderful years, appearances on more than 200 television episodes, and the opportunity to tour in a band with some extraordinarily talented friends who would eventually become Diamond Rio and go on to be named CMA Vocal Group of the Year. I learned a lot during those years — about performing, certainly, but probably even more about people, creativity and what it takes to turn an idea into something an audience will remember.

Eventually, I discovered that I loved creating the show just as much as being in it.

That realization led to Matt Davenport Productions, and somehow, all these years later, I still get to do the things I fell in love with back then — write, direct, produce, dream up ideas and work alongside incredibly talented people. Along the way, we've created productions for theme parks, cruise ships, riverboats and corporate clients around the world.

In the early 2000s, we built Live On Stage around a pretty simple idea: great live entertainment shouldn't only happen in big cities. For more than two decades, we've had the privilege of helping bring tens of thousands of concerts to communities all across America. About a decade ago, we added Live Arts & Attractions, and more recently welcomed Producers, Inc. into our family of companies. Together, they represent an amazing collection of artists and attractions — and give me yet another excuse to stay involved in the creative side of this business I still love.

I love creating things, solving problems, encouraging talented people and mentoring young artists and future business leaders as they begin figuring out their own journeys.
